Wolverley
Surgery is one of thirteen Practices covering the Wyre Forest.
Before April 2001 the Wyre Forest area was covered by the
Wyre Forest Primary Care Group who followed policy laid
down by the Worcestershire Health Authority. Since 1st April
2001 the Primary Care Group has been changed to The Wyre Forest
Primary Care Trust -WFPCT ( the first Trust to be set
up in the county) which means that the decisions which affect
the health of the Wyre Forest population are taken by a
Board which is working in the best interests of patients and
who have first hand knowledge of the Wyre Forest and the problems
associated with particular areas and communities.
Wolverley
Surgery has two doctors
and twenty one support staff which means that a very wide
range of services can be provided.
A booklet is available from Reception giving information about
Wolverley Surgery. Some of the infpormation is covered on different
pages of this website. The remainder can be accessed by clicking

The
Surgery has a Dispensary which, for a defined area around the
Surgery, actually dispenses prescribed drugs. The time between
lodging a prescription and the drugs being available for collection
is normally three working days.
A
list of some of the Web Sites relating to the Wolverley
area covering education, religion and leisure may be found at
useful sites.
There is,also, a new Government initiative to cause GP Surgeries
to open for more hours in the week. You can find out more about
this topic, and what Wyre Forest GPs think will happen to patient
care if it goes ahead,. in the "useful sites "
page where, if you click on "saveoursurgeries" you
will find information and how you could help, should you feel
it appropriate to do so.
Wolverley Practice
has a Patients Participation Group (PPG) which is made up of
number of patients selected to be representative of the wide
range of patients served by the Practice. They meet regularly
to discuss Practice topics and aim to produce a newsletter from
time to time with useful information for patients. Between newsletters
items of interest are usually posted on the Notice Board. To

The NHS requires all
GP practices to carry out a Patient Survey annually. the purpose
is to assess patient satisfaction with the medical services
provided, so that these services can be improved where necessary
and practicable. The Survey is carried out using the GPAQ (General
Practice Assessment Questionnaire) document. The Wolverley Surgery
Survey was, this year, covering our two doctors. Nurses and
support staff is the Survey base next year.
